Hey that's me!
First of all, thanks for stopping by! I'm always happy to have new and returning viewers on my page!
My name is Laura!
If you're asking about my professional side: I'm a creative! In particular I specialize in digital design, print design, product/package design, art direction, display design and event planning!
If you're asking about me on a personal level: I'm Laura! Obsessed with small dogs (I love all dogs though), a collector of anything and everything (enamel pins are my largest collection), a crafter (crocheting has been my longest skill), a lego addict (I started with the flowers and have progressed to cars), the middle child in a family of three (older sis, me, younger bro), a travel lover (Japan has been my favorite spot so far), a fashion enthusiast (pants are my favorite article of clothing), a photographer (candid photography is my favorite), a proud Latina (my family is Mexican)!
If you're asking what I like about my profession: All the personality and culture that can be found in design, along with the fact that design is found all around us! I love seeing how well (or unwell) a design suits a company or if that design has changed over the years (like the Jell-O, Fanta, and Pepsi logos). In specific, I've always been drawn to package design and the experience that comes with it! Ask anyone I know and they'll mention that every time I go to a restaurant, a grocery store, a mall, etc. I will ALWAYS point out packaging or the displays in a store. I'm notorious for having 5 billion photos of displays and keeping unique packaging (you will find at least 50 broken down boxes and 40 clothing tags under my bed). When looking at a package design, I don't only observe the exterior or interior of the packaging, but also how the package functions! I love finding unique package experiences! I was most recently mind-boggled when I went to Japan and discovered their onigiri packaging and how it was made to be as little of a mess as possible! Japan as a whole was just so incredibly designed, and I found my jaw dropping at every corner!
If there's one thing I will always love about design, it's the ability to observe and understand the world through different lenses. Tote bags, prints, and typography, for example, all give a glimpse into the personality and culture of a specific area. It shows what type of people live there, what their interests are, and what they consider to be most notable. My phone is filled with photos of all sorts of designs I’ve found through my day life and travels, and will continue to gather in all my adventures to come! <3
Make sure to take a look at my portfolio for a few of the ways I view the world :)
Now that you've gotten to know a little more about me, I'd love to get to know you more as well! You can reach me through email, LinkedIn or Instagram, all of which are located on the top right corner! Feel free to reach out with any questions or even just to say hi!
